인생 한방 (insaeng hanbang) pairs 인생 ("life") with 한방 ("one shot" — like a single decisive punch, or a single dose). Together: one big win that flips your whole life around at once — a lottery ticket, a risky bet, a single lucky break that outweighs years of steady effort.
Said half-jokingly, it's just a lottery ticket bought with friends. Taken seriously, it edges toward a mindset Korean has another phrase to warn against: 한탕주의 (hantangjuui) — betting everything on one lucky strike instead of steady work. The phrase itself sits comfortably on either side of that line.
The lightest version — a shared ticket
Most of the time, this is exactly as serious as it sounds: not very.
